The joy of seeing a new little person come into our family is sooo great! Stephen is 2 1/2 and such an individual, and now here comes Skyler. He is precious, and we wonder what his personality will be like.

Come mid-March, Geoff and Ashley will add a little girl, and we are all so anxious to see her.

The bible says children are a gift from the Lord; we welcome them and cherish them and protect them. I wish every child could live in a family of love and gratefulness. We thank the Lord for our babies.

New Year, New Hope

I look forward to the New Year, oh I’ll make resolutions that I’ll keep for about a week, then decide otherwise. But when I think about a new-born child coming into the world, I can’t help but feel it is Gods example of HOPE.

Everyone loves to look at a new baby; I find myself stopping moms in the store to sneak a peek at a little bundle of love. The mom smiles and thanks me for noticing her little one. So my friends, look to the New year with hope. When Jesus was born, He was God’s promise of new hope.

Fingerprints and handprints…then and now…

As a young mom with three young children, I had a constant battle with fingerprints and handprints on walls, furniture, and any clothes I had on.

Now there are fingerprints and handprints put there by Stephen, and I can’t bear to clean them off.

I want so badly for him not to grow up so fast.

But he doesn’t listen and here we now have a ‘little boy’ and no more baby!

So young moms, enjoy each day with your little ones, before you know it they grow up. Each season has it’s joy and a few headaches too, all in all, this child is wonderful…but I miss those baby days that sped by too fast.

The perks of aging!

I find contentment, a peace in my heart and mind, and joy from being with my loved ones. Watching these children grow and change is precious to me.

Holding a precious great-grandson to my heart is priceless.

If I was not 74 yrs young, I would not have these wonderful moments. No, life is not always ‘a day at the beach’, but all in all there are grand moments to cherish. Be of good cheer and count your blessings.

Our friend Marty was one of a kind. I don’t think there was anything he could not do. He built houses, flew airplanes, sailed a boat, played piano, sang, and there are other things I have forgotten. Marty had a 5 year fight with cancer, he made sure everything was taken care of for Kari, wife of almost 55 yrs. There were many hard times for him, but he was a survivor and pushed through no matter what. He loved the Lord and is now reuniting with son, Mark, grandson Jeremy and several family members. We will miss Marty, our loss is heavens gain.

Well the Christmas season is past and we are looking to 2011. Leona Valley has had her first real snow of the year, beautiful. But now I seem to enjoy sitting at the window in our warm and cozy house rather than going outside to play in the snow.

I wonder what 2011 will bring. We can only do one day at a time. This is the year to renew my driver’s license. I’m thinking of having a glamor shot put on my license, so OK I lied about my weight, what the heck! I’m fooling myself, I don’t mind…..

So I look to the new year wondering what it will bring. One thing for sure I can count on is my Jesus to be with me no matter what comes along: laughter, tears, joyful times, sad times. I am never alone because of the precious gifts Jesus has given me, my wonderful family and friends. Be of good cheer my friends!

The Best Time of the Year

December! My favorite time of the year. We celebrate the birth of our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus…

I also love my snow-people. These are beloved ‘people’ that my creative children have made.

When I unpack them from their long hibernation, they always come out smiling. They are just as happy to see me.

Christmas is a time when I reflect upon the past year and thank God for His goodness. During this holiday season, my family, near and far, are always in my heart in a special way. So I wish all of my blogging friends and visiting viewers a most wonderful Christmas. Love each other and be kind to each other. That really makes our Father in heaven happy.

When you know what you are doing, it looks sooo easy………..they say, “Oh, just press the button.” Hey that’s what baby Stephen does, he was working the DVD player, press the button, the tray comes out, he gently(a miracle) pushes the tray back in. that kept him busy for at least 5 minutes. So I will hang in there and learn this blogging thing.
